Check the omnibus survey results
Residents are surveyed annually by an outside research company to provide information the City uses to help with strategic planning, service delivery, as well as policy and program development.
Highlights from the 2008 omnibus survey
are:

The most important issues facing our community are crime and policing with 27.5% of those surveyed choosing this category.Other top issues residents feel are important to our community include:

Quality of life ratings have risen: The average response on the 1-5 scale in 2007 was 3.89; this year, it is 4.07.

only 3.1% of respondents rated Regina’s quality of life negatively.

Residents were satisfied with City parks and green spaces: among the 10 services identified, parks rated 3.98 on a scale of 1-5.

Other services ranked highly included: garbage collection, athletic fields, fitness centres, neighbourhood centres and arts/culture support.

Services that were not ranked highly included: snow removal, recycling options, and streets and sidewalks.

52.7% of respondents contacted the City in the last year: The incidence of contact is much stronger among higher income households and among those between the ages of 30-60.

A majority of users would support a mandatory snow-removal bylaw: 55.3% would favour it compared to 28.% that would oppose it.
- Perceived value-for-dollar of City taxes has declined modestly since last year: 33.8% of respondents rate the value as positive while 28.1% of respondents rate it negatively.
- About 1 in 5 respondents lives in a household where someone used Regina Transit in the last month with 46.4% of those people using Transit to get to work. Other reasons these people used Regina Transit were for shopping (14.5%) and school (11.6%.)

37.6% of respondents contacted the Regina Police Service to report a crime in 2008, down from last year's level of 45.6% respondents.

Nearly all respondents (99%) feel safe walking in their neighborhoods during the day. 3 out of 4 respondents feel safe walking in their neighborhoods at night.

Satisfaction with the Regina Police Service is positive (3.49 on a scale of 1 to 5), slighly less than the 3.62 recorded in 2007.

Satisfaction with the Fire Department is almost unchanged: at 4.50 on a scale of 1 to 5, it is very close to the 4.48 reported in 2007.
